Hi there and welcome to my Userlytics review. Would you like to make money from testing websites? You probably have Userlytics on your radar.
Is Userlytics a scam? Can you make good money using Userlytics, or is it a waste of your precious time? I signed up as a 'tester,' to see what it's like on the inside. This review includes my account of having used the platform.
Despite the presence of online scams and websites that pay very little, there are still legit websites that offer you a decent chance of making serious money online.
NAME OF PRODUCT: UserLytics
WHAT IS ABOUT: You can get paid for testing websites, applications or other digital assets.
WHAT IS USERLYTICS ALL ABOUT?
Userlytics is a platform that offers usability and user experience testing of websites and applications.
If you are a client, you can hire Userlytics to perform qualitative market research and online in-depth interviews amongst a range of other services.
If you are looking to make some money, then you can register as tester. You get to test client's websites and applications. In exchange, you get remunerated for submitting your feedback.
HOW DOES USERLYTICS WORK?
The first step is that you need to register as a Userlytic tester.
If you are suitable candidate, then you will be invited to test one of their client's website, application or other digital asset. To successfully perform the test, you may be requested to download the Userlytics recorder.
What is the Userlytics recorder?
It's basically their software testing application that you use to do the assignments.
When you are assigned a usability test, you may be asked to comment or provide feedback on the,
- Site navigation
- Overall Concept
- Ease of use and intuitiveness
- Design, video, color and layout, of the software or website in question.
Basically its all about providing your overall experience of using the 'digital asset.' and picking up potential 'glitches' or problems that the client can improve upon to create a better user experience.
Think of it as if you were a 'mystery shopper,' and your job is to evaluate your shopping experience of a particular department store. It's a very similar thing going on here. The online difference is that everything takes place online.
Out of curiosity, have you ever done mystery shopping before? If so, I would love to hear your experience. You are welcome to share your experience in the comments section below.
So, how long do these assignments or usability tests take?
They may take anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes.
HOW MUCH CAN YOU EARN WITH USERLYTICS?
According to the official Userlytics website, you can from $5 up to $20. They mention that some of their projects can earn you as much as $90.
However, you have to be invited to take upon these projects. The problem with that, is that you will not know when the invite is going to come.
Having said that, it will be hard to gauge as to how much tests you will be given in a day.In other words, it's difficult to predict how much money you can make using their service.
HOW TO GET STARTED WITH USERLYTICS?
The sign up process is pretty forward. It's free to register with Userlytics.
When I entered the member's area, there were no invitations waiting for me.
I guess one of the main reasons could be due to the fact that my profile was only 28% completed.
So, I went ahead and completed my profile as best as I could hoping to qualify for more tests.
Surprisingly, it took less than 5 minutes to get my profile jumped up to the 100% mark.
The only thing left to do, is to sit tight and wait for the invites to roll in.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT USERLYTICS
It is well suited for beginners. The clients prefer folks who are new to or unfamiliar with their applications, as they believe that it will offer them a more realistic user feedback experience.
You can perform the testing from both your laptop as well as mobile device.
WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT USERLYTICS
They only pay you once every 15 days. Once you have completed an assignment for a client, you have to wait for the client to approve your submission. Only once this is done, can you get paid and have to wait 15 days to receive your monies.
The income is not consistent or predictable.Unfortunately, you will not know how many tests you will be given as it's by invite only, and it's offered in limited numbers. So, you have to be patient and act quickly when a test does arrive in your e-mail.
This is not a passive income opportunity. You have to be physically engaged to the task in order to earn the money.
IS USERLYTICS A SCAM? MY PERSONAL OPINION
On the official Userlytics website, big brands such as Microsoft and Google have used their services to "optimize their user experience." From this point, I think that Userlytics are the genuine deal and would not consider them a scam.
However, from the viewpoint of a website tester looking to make extra money, it's a slightly different story. From my own experience, I have yet to receive my first invitation.(Note: it has been three days since my registration and I have not received one invite. This is why I gave it only 1.5 stars)
Perhaps there might be a sound reason for this. Maybe it because of the the country that I am staying in(Africa), that there are no test available for my specific location.
The point is, you should not look at this as the only way to earn money online.Take my advice and join other similar platforms.
If you like 'get paid to,' websites, then you can try this site. The pay is much lower, but the jobs are consistent.
If you are someone who is looking to earn a passive income, than I would suggest something a bit more challenging, but exciting at the same time.
It involves using a business model called affiliate marketing. You do not need any experience to start, and you can build a business based on your own passions, or hobbies.
I use affiliate marketing as my main source of earning an online income. I would be happy to show you how to get you started.Simply click on the link that follows to learn more.
